DINGHY CRUISING The Abbey Sailing Club has an active cruising section. Everything from sailing picnics on the banks of the River Thames to discovering beautiful creeks in the Solent, sometimes linking up with other clubs or The Dinghy Cruising Association. Learn aspects of navigation and practical skills such as anchoring or reefing your dinghy. Those new to sailing are encouraged to take part in the sailing program to become competent sailors before attempting to sail on the sea. If however you are one of the many dinghy day sailors or cruisers looking for a friendly club to base yourself at, look no further, you will be made very welcome here and encouraged to join in with all club activities. You might be surprised how much the river has to offer when you don't feel like travelling. Currently the Abbey Cruising Section is dominated by Margaret Dye Wanderers a superb craft designed for Margaret herself for cruise sailing, see the Cruising Section noticeboard in the Clubhouse..
